May 2023, Blacksburg, VA — After fifty years in the packaging machinery industry, seventeen of them with ESS Technologies, Walter Langosch retired. As the Director of Sales and Marketing and then Global Business Development Director, Walt created the ESS sales and marketing team to maximize business development and strengthen the company’s place as a solution provider for the automation of assembly and packaging processes in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, medical device, and consumer products industries. Prior to joining ESS, Walt worked as a VP of sales and marketing and a sales manager for other companies who also specialize in automated packaging machines.
Walt told ESS, “Fifty years in packaging automation with five different companies has gifted me with many friendships and associations. I’ve worked with some phenomenal and brilliant people throughout these years, whose influence and leadership have made me a better person. My travel has taken me to many wonderful countries which in turn has taught me how great our own country can be. Now I can re-visit my favorites and discover the new ones with my loving wife and friend Shelley.”
On May 17, 2023, industry experts, friends, family, and co-workers gathered to celebrate Walt, his achievements
in the packaging industry, and the lasting impact he has on all who have had the privilege to work with Walt. His
retirement comes in time to see his two daughters head to college, leaving Walt plenty of time to golf, enjoy the
beach, and celebrate the finer things in life.
